On the lees. Very dry, almost to a fault. Kind of dull. $34/bottle. Last in a flight.
This restaurant, by the way, is wonderful. If anyone is unfortunate enough to ever find themselves in the mediocre St. Louis suburb of Clayton, Remy’s is a great bet. Good & knowledgable bartenders, excellent mediterranean-inspired food, obvioiusly a good wine selection.

Bready. Kind of boring. Citric, lemon/lime sort of scent, but boring palete. $34/bottle. Second in a flight.

Delicious, but sweet. Peachy! Really, really peachy. Smells like midsummer. $40/bottle. First of a white flight, by far the best. I’ve been looking for this in VA, but haven’t yet found it.

Columbia Valley Cab. Tastes like Mocha, warm olive oil. Sweetly citric. $42/bottle. The third in a flight (see previous two entries), but not the best of the bunch.

Coffee! Very strong tannin, heavy alcohol aroma, moderately earthy tone. Fascinating cab. $36/bottle at the restaurant.

A mendoza cabernet. Thick, sharp tannins, light oak, dark cherries & currants. OK, especially for a $30 restaurant wine.

Drank: 4/19/07 at home, making golf holes and watching The Dreamers, a bizarre but interesting French film starring Eva Green.

Cheap and delicious! Which is a great combination. Less than $10 and eminently drinkable.

Drank: 4/17/07 at Bristol Seafood and Grill in Creve Coeur, MO.

Had plenty of this before, but it always manages to surprise me. Too sweet to drink a whole bottle, but a glass goes remarkably well with fish.

Drank: Can’t remember the date, at Legal Seafood in Tyson’s.

I love this wine.

Drank: 4/13/07 at Morton’s in Vienna.

OK. Tastes like red wine. Definitely worth the $12 it costs at a wine shop; probably not worth $50 or whatever Morton’s charged.
